Quinoa is a staple in most of Australia’s household pantries these days and thanks to some innovative ideas through heath food companies to buy into the massive quinoa market, it now comes in many forms. It’s been manufactured as flour, desserts, tart crusts, breakfasts and more. However, now there’s a new quinoa product available in the form of vodka. Yes, you read that right, vodka! The craze of quinoa has moved to vodka!
I came across this new product while I was flicking through the discover section of a Dan Murphy’s catalogue. The manufacturer boasts that it makes for a silky, elegant tasting vodka by using unique French techniques. They also give 2.5% of its turnover go to the development programs for the farmers communities which in turn creates for a socially responsible drink.
For those of you unaware of what quinoa actually is, it’s a seed that has a multi facets of use that originated from the Andes mountains in Peru and Bolivia. Quinoa a pseudocereal which basically means that it is consumed in a number of different ways similar to a wheat or grain instead of how seeds are traditionally used and now we can add alcohol to this list.
The Fair vodka company manufacture and distribute their products from the cognac region of France which automatically gives me the impression that it has an air of grandeur and class about it.
From the new curiosity of a new alcohol, the socially responsible outcomes to buying a vodka that helps communities and the boast of a smoother more sophisticated product, this vodka has a lot going for it!
